Investing.com - U.S. stock futures were trading slightly higher during Monday's evening deals, following a positive close for major benchmark indices as market participants turn focus toward third-quarter earnings season.


By 6:35pm ET (10:35pm GMT) Dow Jones Futures and S&P 500 Futures ticked 0.1% higher while Nasdaq 100 Futures were flat.


Ahead in Tuesday's trade, investors will be monitoring retail sales, industrial production and business inventories, as well as speeches from Williams and Barkin.


Among earnings, companies including Johnson & Johnson (NYSE:JNJ), Bank of America Corp (NYSE:BAC), Lockheed Martin Corporation (NYSE:LMT), Goldman Sachs Group Inc (NYSE:GS), Bank of New York Mellon (NYSE:BK) and United Airlines Holdings Inc (NASDAQ:UAL) are expected to release quarterly results.

During Monday's regular trade, the Dow Jones Industrial Average added 314.3 points or 0.9% to 33,984.6, the S&P 500 lifted 45.8 points or 1.1% to 4,373.6 and the NASDAQ Composite gained 160.8 points or 1.2% to 13,568.


On the bond markets, United States 10-Year rates were at 4.7%.
